Leaving a gift in your your will involves leavinga pre-determined share of your assets to a designated individual or institution. We are referring to individual gifts, not shares of estates.
TWO WAYS TO LEAVE A GIFT
Using a notary
Prefereable ‘open’, so that you can change or update it at any point.
The cost is usually between 40-60 euros.
A handwritten letter that is unverified. It is valid, but you need an affidavit to verify to signature and guarantee that this is the final will.
How to leave a gift in your will
- You must be over 14 years old.
- You must be in full possession of your mental faculties at the time of writing of your will.
- You must clearly indicate the name and CIF of the receiving organisation.
